WHO WE ARE

In 2021, the Translational Medicine Academy (TMA) decided to expand its mission to developing “Global Implementation Guidelines” as a complement to currently available international and national quality cardiology guidelines and focus on their implementation of best practices throughout the world. This project, under the umbrella of the iCARDIO Alliance, aims at filling the need for implementation-focused cascade documents, in particular for its members in low resource settings.

OUR MISSION

The aim of the iCARDIO Alliance is to educate doctors and patients about best practices and latest advances in the field. It also promotes equal access to optimal care for all patients wherever they are in the world.

HOW WE GO ABOUT IT

The Partner Organizations, under the leadership of the iCARDIO Alliance, work together to develop Global Implementation Guidelines (also considered to be global consensus guidelines) that provide guidance, based on an economic cascade approach, to support implementation of best care options in cardiovascular medicine.

HOW WE WORK

These Guidelines are developed using a patient-centric framework. Their authors review existing international, national and regional guidelines and summarize them with a global three-tier approach, taking into account the accessibility, availability, and affordability of local resources in their final recommendations. The products of this process are the Global Implementation Guidelines, aimed at treating patients with the best possible care no matter where they are in the world.

OUR MEMBERS

The iCARDIO Alliance brings together scientific societies with a special interest in cardiovascular medicine and related fields, promoting a multidisciplinary approach. All partner society members participating in developing the Global Implementation Guidelines are committed, on a voluntary basis, to helping the iCARDIO Alliance with its educational responsibilities.

OUR VALUES

The iCARDIO Alliance prides itself on putting forward the importance of ethical behavior, integrity and educational responsibility in the interest of cardiovascular patients throughout the world.
